New Year’s Eve 2022 Promotions at West Virginia Casinos

Four of West Virginia’s five casinos have promotions to celebrate the end of 2022. A couple of promotions are also held on New Year’s Day. The Greenbrier does not have any casino promotions listed on its website.

NYE 2022 casino promotions in West Virginia include hot seat drawings, cash prizes for qualifying poker hands, and more. Most promotions require contestants to be rewards club members and present to win. Some allow additional drawing entries to be earned using a players card. A couple of promotions require a previous taxable jackpot to qualify. Casino reward centers have additional information about the promotions below.

Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races – Jackpot drawing up to $15,000

Players who won a taxable jackpot in 2022 are eligible for the New Year’s Eve promotion at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. Qualifying players have a chance to win $5,000. The prize will be tripled to $15,000 for winners with a downloaded mychoice rewards app. Drawings will take place from 6pm until 10pm.

Mardi Gras Casino

There are multiple New Year’s Eve promotions held at Mardi Gras Casino. Qualifying poker hands allow players to spin a money wheel for cash prizes. Hot seat drawings will also take place for slot and table game players.

Poker cash wheel – Win up to $500 in cash

Poker players that make a full house of jacks full of twos or higher are eligible to spin a cash wheel. Prizes vary, up to $500 in cash. The promotion runs from 1pm until 4am on December 30 and December 31.

Hot seat drawings – $42,000 in free play and promotional chips

Hot seat drawings take place at Mardi Gras Casino starting at noon on December 31, 2022. Guests must be actively playing slots or table games with a player’s card to qualify. Table game hot seat drawings take place from noon until 7pm on December 31. Three players will win $1,000 in promotional chips each hour, for a total of $24,000.

A total of $18,000 in free play will be awarded to slot players. Every hour, five active slot players will receive $100 in free play. Drawings will take place from December 31 at noon through 11pm on January 1, 2023.

Mountaineer Casino – $23,000 in free play

Mountaineer Casino is celebrating the end of 2022 by giving away $23,000 in free play. Drawings take place on December 31 from 2pm until 9pm. Five winners will be selected every hour. The top prize available varies based on the drawing time.

• 2pm, 4pm, 6pm & 8pm – Top prize: $1,000 in free play
• 3pm, 5pm, 7pm & 7pm – Top prize: $2,300 in free play

Entries into the drawing are earned during the month of December. Players activate entries into the drawing by playing between 1pm and 9pm on December 31.

$7,000 jackpot drawing

There will also be a drawing for jackpot drawing on New Year’s Day at Mountaineer. Players who won a jackpot during December will be eligible for this $7,000 drawing.

Every hour from 2pm until 5pm, four winners will be awarded $250 in free play and one player will win $500 in free play. A grand prize winner will be selected at 5pm to win $1,000 in free play. Entries must be deposited into the drawing drum between 1pm and 4:55pm.

Wheeling Island Casino

New Year’s Eve promotions will be available to poker, slot and table game players at Wheeling Island Casino.

Poker – High-hand cracked promotion

Up to four cracked high-hands will win between $100 and $500 in the poker room. The initial prize is $100 and increases $100 every hour for a maximum prize of $500. This promotions runs on December 31 from 10am until 5pm and on January 1 from 11am until 6pm.

Hot seat drawings – Free play and promotional money

Hot seat drawings take place starting at noon on December 31, 2022. Guests must be actively playing slots or table games with a player’s card to qualify. Table game hot seat drawings take place from noon until 7pm on December 31 and January 1. Every half hour, one player will win $100 in promotional play.

Every hour, ten active slot players will receive $100 in free play. Drawings will take place from December 31 at noon through 4am and January 1, 2023 from noon until 8pm.

NYE 2022 drawings – $2,022 in cash every hour

Wheeling Island will finish counting down to the New Year with cash drawings. Starting at 8pm at the Island Stage, $2,022 in cash will be awarded to one winner every hour until 11pm. At 12:30am on New Year’s Day, 23 players will win $2,023 in free play.

Entries for the drawings are earned throughout the month of December. For every 50 base points earned, players gain one entry into the drawing.
