Four of the five casinos in West Virginia offer promotions to start the new year in 2024. These promotions are listed on their websites. However, the Greenbrier has no casino promotions listed on its website.
West Virginia casino promotions include drawings, gift giveaways, blackjack tournaments, and more. Promotions require contestants to be rewards club members. Most also require members to be present to win. Some allow additional drawing entries to be earned using a players card. A couple of promotions require a previous taxable jackpot to qualify. Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races
January promotions for Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races are now listed. This post was updated on January 2 to reflect these changes.
The drawing on Thursday, January 25 is for players who won taxable jackpots throughout the month. Participants have a chance to win up to $10,000 in cash from 5pm until 10pm.
Penn Heroes members earn entries throughout the month for a chance to win up to $1,000 in slot play on Friday, January 26. Additionally, participants receive a complimentary appetizer at the sportsbook. This drawing takes place from 5pm until 8pm.
Then on Sunday, January 28, there is a $10,000 progressive pay day drawing from 5pm until 8pm. Players must activate entries between 4pm and 8pm. If not hit, the jackpot increases to $20,000 for February.
More January promotions
Monday through Thursday from 8am until 4pm, players who earn 25 tier points have a chance to win up to $1,000 in slot play. Additionally, players earn a complimentary S’mores cookie and hot cocoa at Joe & Dough between 8am and noon.
On Mondays from noon until 8pm, players club members swipe at a promotional kiosk for a chance to win up to $250 in PENN cash. Players who earn at least 50 tier points are eligible to play a second time.

Mardi Gras Casino is celebrating the end of 2023 and New Year’s Day 2024. During January, players club members who hit a taxable slot jackpot receive a promotional scratch-off card. Then, drawings will be hosted on January 31 from 6pm until 9pm. Every 30 minutes, players win free slot play until 8:30pm. At, 9pm, one member wins $1,000 in cash.
Multiple drawings take place on December 31, 2023
At 11pm, five players club members win 123,123 in points. Then at 12:30am, five contestants each draw an envelope. Four contain $500 in free play and one holds $10,000 in free play. Finally, at 1am, one player wins a new Lexus NX.
In another drawing, five winners are selected every hour from 4pm until 10pm. Guests pick up a wristband in the Party Pit starting at 2pm, then drop the wristband tab into the drawing drum. Winners with a Lucky North Players Club card win $200 in cash. However, those who have also earned 100 base points win $300. All other winners receive $100 in cash.
Poker players have a chance to win up to $500 in cash. Players who get a full house, Jacks over deuces (JJJ22) or better, spin a wheel to select a prize.
Promotions continue into the new year
Mardi Gras Casino is hosting hot seat drawings on January 1, 2024. The drawings take place every hour from 9am until midnight. Five winners receive $100 in slot play each hour.
Drawings occur on Fridays in January and February, with a grand finale on March 1, 2024. Ten members win each hour from 7pm until 10pm. Winners spin a prize wheel. The progressive spot grows by $500 each week if not won. Players club members earn one entry for every 50 points earned at poker or live table games. Players earn double entries Sunday through Thursday.
Additionally, there are $50 blackjack tournaments on Thursdays, January 11 and 25. Registration starts at 6pm with the tournament starting at 7pm. The tournament is limited to 96 players.
Weekly promotions continue in the new year at Mardi Gras
Sunday through Thursday, players club members receive late-night point multipliers starting at midnight until 4am. It is a five times multiplier on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays and a triple multiplier on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Also on Tuesdays, players receive triple points starting at 9am. Video poker and keno are excluded from these multiplier days.

Emerald and Sapphire receive double the prize value while Diamond and Black Diamond earn triple.

Mountaineer Casino celebrates the New Year
Mountaineer Casino is celebrating the end of 2023 by giving away $24,000 in free play. Drawings take place on New Year’s Eve with five winners every hour from 1pm until 9pm. The top prize available varies based on the drawing time.

Mountaineer Casino offers multiple weekly promotions. Players 50 and older who earn 20 tier points on Mondays between noon and 6pm earn a free dining special.

From 10pm until 2am, slot players earn five times bonus points Sunday through Tuesday and three times points on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Video poker is excluded.
Players can receive a $33 or $54 buffet credit on Mondays by earning 100 points or 200 points, respectively. Buffet credits are redeemable the following Thursday through Sunday.
