West Virginia Casinos at Racetracks and a Historical Resort

Casinos were legalized in West Virginia in 1993. The first casinos in the state only offered slots, video poker, and electronic table games. In 2003, table games were permitted at these casinos, which added games such as craps, roulette, blackjack, Three Card Poker, Pai Gow Poker, Mississippi Stud, and poker.

This section covers all West Virginia casinos. Each has its own page that shows the games that you will find on the property, the limits, overnight accommodations, entertainment, and restaurants. We cover the casino’s sportsbook operations, along with all West Virginia poker rooms

Four of the state’s casinos are at racetracks. The other is a private casino at an exclusive resort. We visited the four racetrack casinos in May 2021. This site covers our adventure.
