Dining and drinks at The Greenbrier

All food and beverage purchases at The Greenbrier are subject to a 20% service charge (22% for parties of eight or more), a 6.5% Historic Preservation Fund fee, and sales tax. There are a few dining options close to the casino floor.

Twelve Oaks, In-Fusion, and Greenbrier Royale are located in the Casino Club. Resort casual is required in the casino before 7pm. Business casual is required in the casino after 7pm. The high-end Twelve Oaks lounge serves signature and traditional cocktails, beer, and wine. Food items include salads, shrimp cocktails, nachos, quesadillas, and pizza from the Pizza Shoppe.

In-Fusion is located in the heart of the casino. The Asian fusion restaurant features a Sushi bar in its center. Menu items include the sushi bar, soy-roasted sea bass, and General Tso’s chicken. Greenbrier Royale provides guests with a place to grab a cocktail or glass of wine while taking a break from the casino floor.

Also located in the casino, 42 Below is open late-night. The bar and dance floor is located 42 feet below the front entrance of the Greenbrier in the Casino Club. The large drink menu includes specialty cocktails, wine by the glass, bottles of wine, beer, bourbon, whisky, and scotch. Food items include salads, appetizers, sandwiches, and coal oven-fired pizza.

Other dining options at The Greenbrier

The Greenbrier has a dress code for all guests to follow, not just in the casino. Robes, swimwear, tank tops, cut-offs, short shorts, sweatpants, men’s hats, and baseball caps are not allowed in dining establishments. Children 10 years of age and older are required to follow the appropriate dress code.

The Pizza Shoppe is available for delivery within the main hotel, legacy cottages, estate homes, and sporting club homes. The coal-fired pizzas are available as 8” or 14” pizzas. 

Casual Dining

• Draper’s – Dorothy Draper’s recipes and Southern dishes such as a fried green tomato sandwich, Crab Louis, chicken salad, and chicken pot pie, plus an ice cream and dessert bar.
• Greenbrier Gourmet & Coffee Bar – Open for breakfast and lunch. Greenbrier’s signature coffees, jams, and salsas are available along with pastries, sandwiches, and fruit to go. 
• Springhouse Smoothies – Snack bar next to the outdoor tennis courts. Smoothies, drinks, and energy bars.  
• Tree Tops Café – Open for lunch and snacks. Outdoor dining overlooking the infinity pool. Swimwear allowed. Shrimp cocktails, burgers, swordfish tacos, chicken, and Atlantic salmon. Kids menu also available.

Resort Casual Dining

Resort casual attire includes collared shirts, sweaters, jackets, dress slacks, and walking shorts. Exercise clothing is not allowed. Men’s hats and baseball caps are not permitted at any dining establishment. Diners are required to wear resort casual attire when dining at the following restaurants.

Located in the Golf Club, Slammin’ Sammy’s and Sam Snead’s open seasonally for lunch and dinner.

• The Forum – Italian restaurant featuring coal-fired oven pizzas, spaghetti, spinach, and ricotta stuffed shells, fettuccine alfredo, and mushroom tortellini for lunch. The dinner menu includes chicken, eggplant or veal parmesan, angel hair with shrimp and crab, lasagna, pork chops, and chicken piccata. The children’s menu features pizza, steak, and pasta.
• JJ’s Sports Lounge – Sports bar and lounge with 11 TVs airing college and professional sporting events.
• Ryder Cup Snack Bar – Menu items include breakfast sandwiches, yogurts, sandwiches, wraps, and hotdogs. Cocktail drinks are also served.
• Sam Snead’s – Burgers, wood-fired pizzas, hot dogs, sandwiches, and lobster rolls for lunch. The dinner menu includes New York strip steak, lamb chops, crab-stuffed shrimp, and Atlantic salmon.
• Slammin’ Sammy’s – Views of the golf course, billiard tables, shuffleboard, foosball, and TVs. Daytime menu featuring pizza, burgers, hot dogs, and club sandwiches. The dinner menu includes crab-stuffed shrimp, fried chicken, filet mignon, and burgers. 

Resort casual before 7pm

The Main Dining Room requires resort casual attire for breakfast. Breakfast features an omelet station, sweet potato pancakes, fresh fruit, salmon benedict, and French toast.

Business Casual Dining

Diners are required to wear business casual attire when dining at the following establishments. Jackets are suggested for men. Dark well-kept denim is permitted. Men’s hats and baseball caps are not permitted at any dining establishment. 

• Café Carleton – Overlooks the Casino Club. Live piano music and show tunes play between 8:30pm and midnight. The menu includes wines, cocktails, cheese and charcuterie, caviar, and oysters.
• Lobby Bar – The menu includes cocktails and wine alongside pizza, soups, salads, shrimp cocktails, and sandwiches.
• Prime 44 West – Upscale steakhouse featuring prime bone-in ribeye, Wagyu filet mignon, chilled seafood platter, salmon, sea scallops, Chilean sea bass, and spinach gnocchi. 

Business casual after 7pm

The Main Dining Room is a fine dining experience. Dresses or evening suits are required for women. Jackets and ties are required for men. Dinner features live music with menu items including duck, aged steaks, sea bass, scallops, and sole. 

The Greenbrier hotel

All rooms at the Greenbrier are nonsmoking and include Wifi, a personal safe, ice service, digital newspaper access, clock radio, TV, turn-down service, lighted vanity mirror, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board. Rooms are subject to a 6.5% Historic Preservation Fund fee, 6% sales tax, 3% occupancy tax, and a $39 resort fee (subject to tax) per room per night. The third and fourth adults in a room pay an additional $50 per person per night charge. 

Hotel amenities include morning coffee service, afternoon tea and concert, movies in the Theatre nightly, a champagne toast in The Casino Club, historical presentations and tours, a tennis and fitness center, wireless internet, indoor and outdoor pools, on-property transportation, the Springhouse Entertainer Cabaret, and hiking and meditation trails.

Self-parking is complimentary and valet service costs $31 per night. Pet-friendly cottages are available for an additional nonrefundable $250 pet fee for one pet and $350 for two pets per bedroom per stay. 

Guest Rooms

Four different resort-room styles are available in the hotel at the Greenbrier. The loft-style Gable room features a double bed, with most of these rooms located above The Bunker. The Traditional, Superior, and Deluxe rooms are available with either a single king or two double beds, with each room style increasing in square footage. Superior and Deluxe room types are available with ADA-accessible features.

Classic Suites

Classic Suites are available in four styles. The Draper Suite features one king or two double beds and a sitting area with a queen-size sleeper sofa. Added to the hotel in 1962 to conceal the construction of the Cold War fallout shelter, the West Virginia Suites feature two double beds with a separate living room.

The Executive Suite features a single king bed in each of the two bedrooms, an adjoining bathroom, and a living room with a wet bar and a queen-size sleeper sofa. Garden Suites feature either one king bed or two queen beds and a living room with a queen-size sleeper sofa.

Historic Suites

The Greenbrier offers eight unique one- to four-bedroom historic suites. When reserving Historic Suites for a non-discounted rate, guests also receive a personalized arrival call from the concierge team, fresh flower arrangements in living room areas, chocolates for each bedroom, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks upon arrival, and valet parking. 

The Terrace Suites, located on the fifth floor, feature a parlor room and a rooftop terrace with a mountain view. The North Terrace Suite has one bedroom with a king bed, while the East and West Terrace Suites are both two-bedroom suites with an Oriental theme and a single king bed in each bedroom. The Treasury Suite features two bedrooms, one with a single king bed and one with two double beds. 

Located on the fourth floor above the hotel entrance, the Carleton Varney Suite features a view from the parlor and two bedrooms, each with a king bed. The Governor’s Suite features two parlors, a fully equipped bar, and three bedrooms. One bedroom has two queen beds, while the other two bedrooms have single king beds. 

The Greenbrier Suite features four bedrooms. Three have a single king-sized bed, while the fourth has two double beds. The suite also offers a parlor with a wet bar and a rooftop terrace. The State Suite features a bedroom with a king bed, three bedrooms with two double beds each, a high-ceilinged parlor with a decorative fireplace, a living area, and a formal dining area.

Windsor Club

The Windsor Club is a wing of the Greenbrier that is reserved for the most selective guests. 

Greenbrier Estate Homes

When reserving an estate home for a non-discounted rate, guests also receive a personalized arrival call from the concierge team, fresh flower arrangements in living room areas, chocolates for each bedroom, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks in the kitchen upon arrival, plus parking at the estate home. Estate homes range from the three-bedroom Colonnade to the six-bedroom Copeland Hill. 

Legacy Cottages

Legacy cottages range from one to four bedrooms. When reserving the Florida, South Carolina row, Baltimore row, or Tansas row cottages for a non-discounted rate, guests also receive a personalized arrival call from the concierge team, fresh flower arrangements in the living room areas, chocolates for each bedroom, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks in the kitchen upon arrival, plus parking for two vehicles.
